General haulage & transport

Thirty years of loads that had to arrive.

Wise Group runs general haulage across the UK mainland from our Corby base — blue chip CDC, NDC and factory lanes alongside day-to-day work for local businesses. Our own workshop maintains the fleet, and commercial fleets for other operators too.

Fleet investment

We buy good vehicles and look after them.

Reliability is bought twice: once when the vehicle is specified and again every time it comes into the workshop. We reinvest steadily in tractor units and trailers so the fleet stays modern, efficient and presentable on a blue chip customer’s site.

Because maintenance is in-house, a defect reported at four o’clock is being looked at the same evening. There is no waiting for a third-party slot and no vehicle sitting idle while a lane goes uncovered.

Blue chip lanes

CDC, NDC and factory work for household names.

A large part of our weekly running is contracted work for well-known retail and manufacturing businesses. It is structured, audited and unforgiving of late arrivals — which is exactly why it suits the way we plan.

  • 01

    Central distribution centres

Booked-in deliveries into CDCs where the window is the window. We plan backwards from the slot and keep the traffic desk in contact with the site.

  • 02

    National distribution centres

Trunking and shuttle work between NDCs and regional sites, including out-of-hours running where it keeps your network moving.

  • 03

    Factory and production lanes

Inbound raw material and outbound finished goods on regular, repeatable lanes — the work that has to happen every day without a phone call.

We work for household retail and manufacturing names as well as smaller local shippers. Customer references are available on request — [customer names to be confirmed before publication].

Commercial repairs

Maintenance for other people’s fleets, too.

Several local transport firms use our workshop to maintain their commercial vehicles. It is the same team, the same standards and the same paperwork we apply to our own fleet — with the advantage that we understand what taking a vehicle off the road actually costs you.

  • Safety inspections

Scheduled inspections and MOT preparation, recorded and ready for audit.

  • Servicing

Routine servicing planned around your operating hours, not ours.

  • Fleet contracts

Maintenance agreements for local transport firms running their own vehicles.

How we quote

Competitive, and explained.

  • Tell us the lane

Collection and delivery points, frequency, load type and any site restrictions.

  • We check capacity

If we can run it properly we will say so. If we cannot, we will say that too.

  • You get a price

A clear rate with the assumptions written down, not a figure that moves later.

  • We start small

Most contracts begin with a trial period so both sides can see how it runs.

Next step

Need a lane covered or a fleet maintained?

Send the details of the work — regular trunking, a one-off load or a maintenance contract for your own vehicles — and we will come back with a price.
